Government Polytechnic, Budaun, the premier technical institute of the district Budaun, having a glorious history of nearly 37 years, was established in the year 1983 in a very calm and picturesque environment at the western end of the district 50 km from Bareilly District headquarters. Located on Budaun Moradabad Road, about 2.5 km from the district headquarters, this institute, spread over an area of about 32 acres, occupies a special place in the heart of Uttar Pradesh and North India.
Among the various buildings built in the institute are the main building, the extension building, the workshop and the Boys's hostel with 90 beds and Girls hostel with 60 beds. Apart from this, Fertilizer Lab, II Cell, Guest House, Canteen, Dispensary, NCC Block etc. are also built. A total of nine houses of different categories have been constructed for the staff. In addition, the construction of 90 Beds for Boys's and 60 for Girls in hostel, is also almost complete, which will soon be handed over to the institution.
According to the standards established by the state government and All India Council for Technical Education, buildings, land, laboratories, infrastructure etc. are available in the institution. Besides, all facilities necessary for the all-round development of students such as library, adequate furniture, pure drinking water, power backup, computers, internet, sporting goods etc. are also available as per the standards.
The institute has a total of four branches of a three-year diploma course, each with an admission capacity of 60 seats.
Budaun district being a backward region, this institute is like a ray of hope for the students and students of this place. In the regional rural language here, it is more popularly known as "GTI". The distance of the institute is about 04 km from Budaun railway station and about 05 km from the bus stand. Due to almost 100% placental record of the students passing out from the institution, the trend of students of the district has increased rapidly.
